On the footsteps of the Gothic Line at Mount Caprara

This itinerary is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in nature and landscape distinctive of Appennino Emiliano, walking in one of the places that were theater of the Second World War.

How to reach it:
Along Porrettana Way, arrived at Pian di Venola, follow the signs for “Parco Regionale Storico di Monte Sole”. At the parking lot, follow the signs indicating the memorial route.
Route from historical point of view:
Along the way you experience the ancient ruins of Caprara Village, on which there is affixed a plaque in memory of massacre happened on September 29 1944.
Continuing along the path we head towards Mount Caprara, where you can admire, immersed in the woods, the remains of the defensive line called "Gothic Line II" or "Green Line", built by the Germans during the winter between 1944 and the 1945 to contain the ally advance.
Route from naturalistic point of view:
This route offers very much also from a landscape point of view. In autumn and spring, nature gives the best offering postcard scenery.
